1. Who we are
My Private Edit ("we", "us") is the seller and the data controller for the personal data processed through this application and myprivateedit.com. You can reach us at privacy@myprivateedit.com.
2. What we collect
Account details (name, email, sign-in credentials); wardrobe content you add (item photos, garment details, wear logs, outfit records, purchase records and notes); preferences in your Style Profile; support messages you send us; and usage and device data (pages visited, device type, IP address) used to keep the service secure and improve it. Payment details are collected and processed by our payment providers and never stored by us.
3. Why we use it
We use your data to create and maintain your account, provide the styling service (cataloguing, outfit suggestions, cost-per-wear and budget insights, trip packing), process and manage your membership, provide customer support, prevent fraud and misuse, and improve the product. Our legal bases are performance of the contract with you, our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service, your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share data with service providers that help us run the app (cloud hosting, database and storage, analytics). Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, which acts as Merchant of Record for our web orders and processes payments, subscription management, tax compliance and invoicing as a separate controller of the payment data it collects. Purchases made in our iOS app are processed by Apple. We may also share data with professional advisers (legal, accounting) and with authorities where required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your wardrobe content within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal, tax or accounting purposes.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or erase your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Contact us at privacy@myprivateedit.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
7. Security and international transfers
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls. Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in.
